The AgentHere desktop app

Installing the desktop app, signing in with a device code, syncing agents, and how it differs from web chat.

The desktop app is a desktop client of AgentHere for those who prefer working locally: keyboard shortcuts, a dedicated window, quick access to agents without a browser. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Installation

Download the installer from the download page — the site offers the right build for your OS automatically. After installing, launch the app.

Sign in with a device code

The desktop client uses device-code sign-in (RFC 8628):

  1. The app shows a short code.
  2. You follow a link and enter the code in the browser (or approve the sign-in in your account).
  3. Once approved, the app receives tokens and signs in.

That way your credentials are never typed into the app itself — sign-in goes through AgentHere's secure web flow.

Agent sync

After sign-in the app pulls the account config: profile, agent list, their bundles, and the model catalog. What you created on the web appears in the desktop too. The agent switcher lets you change your conversation partner quickly.

Web chat remains the primary way to work; desktop is an optional add-on for those who spend a lot of time in the agent.

Updates

The app doesn't update itself automatically yet. To move to a new version, download the latest installer from the download page and install it over the existing app. The app identifier is ru.agenthere.desktop, so it runs on its own channel and doesn't clash with other clients installed on the same computer.

If something doesn't work

  • Check your internet connection — the app reaches the network through the AgentHere proxy.
  • On sign-in errors, retry the device-code flow.
  • For bugs and questions — support.
